Day 5

Day 5 of the 15 minute paintings.
And this one was quick. I focused on one large tree with a
double trunk. Just tried to keep everything big.
The orange in an under painting coming through.

What was reinforced for me is the need to organize before you paint, not as you go.
It seems obvious but.......

  1. There it is! Love that sweet painting, Helen!
Organizing... It would be fun to paint "by the seat of your pants," and not have to plan. There's the saying, "Plan your painting or plan to fail." Hard lesson to learn.
Looks like Day 5 was a very good day.

  2. I love those shots of red, Helen! Twenty minutes would be a real scramble for me, but I can see where it forces one to prioritize and think quickly.

  3. Another good one, Helen.

Three artists from the guild participated in the Challenge and we had "show and tell" today. It was emphasized how valuable being organized with:
    What to paint
    Colors pre-mixed
    Canvas ready.
Time allotted for painting doesnt have to be more than an hour and a half a day.

    They were very enthused.
Are you going to keep going?
