Study Done Larger

This is one of the resulting paintings from the studies I posted earlier of our local park.

I think I got the shapes right but the light I am not so sure.

Amazing what one learns from repetition.

Here is my abstract.

After studying shapes and color over and over, I just let it flow.

  1. Helen, I love this! That line of gold along the edge of the hill in the forefront gives it such warmth. You've captured the exact color of those California hills. The trees, too, have that muted green as oaks do.

  5. Oh look at the wonderful way this reads! This is the perfect view looking down over land and dark water (the texture on top the 'water' is beautifully subtle!
