Practice

 Wednesday class was outstanding.
We were to bring a photo of a location with which we were very familiar.
And of course, simple shapes.

Here you see my studies.
These are the last four.
The first four were very basic, just shapes.

My favorites are on the top.
How abut you?

Next up will be the large painting.

What a wonderful way to learn!

Oil on canvas pad.

  3. Not easy to paint THAT simple shapes and still make them interesting, but you succeeded beautifully !! My favorites are number 2 and 3 :-)

  5. good choice for a photo. it all reminds me of the farm country they call the Palouse in North Idaho. I too like the top two for their contrast. But, my favorite it the top right one.... I can't resist the vibrant red underneath. great job

  6. It's so hard to say they are all good. My favorite is top left for sure though. I look forward to your large painting Helen.

  7. Wow Helen - I like parts of all of them! The top right has a Van Gogh-ish quality about it - perhaps due to the colors and textures. It will be fun to see what you choose for your larger painting. Curious minds want to know... :o)
